Medial Surface of Left Hemisphere：

Remove superior and inferior arms of cingulum, cortex of lingual and parahippocampal gyri

Remove fibers along forceps major, fusiform and parahippocampal cortex
Expose inferior longitudinal fasciculus, collateral trigone, and temporal horn

Inferior surface of hippocampal formation
Remove subiculum through hippocampal sulcus.
Expose tail of hippocampus above splenium; crus of fornix below splenium.

Remove hippocampal formation and corpus callosum. Expose lateral walls of ventricles.

Remove ependyma.
Expose subcallosal stratum (head-to-body of lateral ventricle) and tapetum (atrum-to-temporal horn).
Expose caudate (head, body, and tail) to amygdala.

Remove caudate, tapetum, and subcallosal stratum.
Expose thalamic peduncles (ant., sup., post., and inf.) and Meyer's loop (ant. portion of post. thalamic peduncle).
